XXL Unveils Programming for Diddy’s Revolt Network

Earlier this week, news surfaced that Diddy plans to launch his own television network, Revolt, on December 12, 2012. The channel will be music-themed and geared towards African Americans. Owning a network is a logical step for Diddy. The mogul’s been successful in music, film and television for nearly two decades and is now reportedly worth $500 million. A shameless plugger, Puffy will surely use the network as a promotional tool for his various business ventures, but, above all, expect Diddy to entertain. Considering the man’s track record—Making the Band and I Want to Work for Diddy come to mind—the Bad Boy boss is sure to provide good TV through Revolt. XXL took the liberty of pitching shows well fit for Revolt’s programming. See for yourself. —Carl Chery (@cchery)

Supporting anti-SOPA Blackout day

On the Tuesday 24th January 2012, the US Senate will vote on the internet censorship bill.

Whilst it is an American law, it has far reaching repurcusions for the web as a whole.

There are many companies against SOPA, such as Google, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, and today I am lending my weight to the argument by taking my site down for the day.

If you think SOPA doesn't affect you, please think again. Watch the video below, or use the form below to force politicians to take notice.

Thank you

*If You F*cking Files* Top 15 cities – with the WORST herpes rates!

*If you F*cking* WRAP IT UP IN THESE CITIES!! LOL And everybody so QUICK to run to Atlanta! lol

(St8Media.wordpress.com) The CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL just released the names of the top 15 cities – with the WORST herpes rates. According to the CDC, the top 5 cities have as high as a 40% infection rate for sexually active young people. DANG!!!

15. Norfolk 14. Birmingham 13. Detroit 12. Memphis 11. Nashville 10. Oklahoma City 9. Richmond 8. Baltimore 7. New Orleans 6. St. Louis 5. Newark 4. Milwaukee 3. Chicago 2. Washington, D.C. 1. Atlanta

The problem with herpes is it is easily transferable and it can lay dormant in your system. Some people have it for years and then have an outbreak and think their current person gave it to them when they’ve had it all along. Also, condoms won’t prevent you from getting herpes. It can be transferred any time a person rubs up to another persons sore (which can just look like razor burn, so most the time people are unaware that their partner has it). KNOW WHO YOU LAY WITH. Being in unstable relationships, or hooking up with different people increases the chance significantly. Stay EDUCATED. Stay FAITHFUL. Stay PROTECTED!

*Mixtape Review*: Rainy Boy - Happy Trap Home (Indianapolis, IN)

I got this new mixtape from Rainy Boy, from the Westside of Indianapolis - he is a relative newcomer with a lot of potential. His 1st mixtape "Tales from the L" was a nice effort and produced one of the hottest up and coming songs in the market, "Gone Off The Goosey". His 2nd effort Happy Trap Home is a continuing in the growth of an artist who is really still finding himself and refining his skills in the craft. This mixtape was a nice follow up and the overall quality puts it in front of his first. Rainy Boy has wit in his rhymes which stands out the most and it makes for good listening. You find yourself laughing at some of the hood tales and descriptions that he gives. I gave this mixtape about 4 listens back and forth because I really wanted to hear its cohesiveness (which it had) and how the songs fit together. It left definitely anticipating more and waiting on his next project.

The mixtape starts off with his intro of someone behind the bars spitting knowledge on the lack of investment in the hood by those who are getting it. A lot of his songs detail stories of "trapping" and what goes along with that life. The 1st song "I Kno I Can" is produced by famed producer Swiff The Gift and features Tone Goody (Broz Up Ent). The beat is hard and the subject of the song fits. Tone Goody holds it down on his feature and Rainy Boy delivers one of the tapes best lines "I don't want to get her, She looking shitter, She look better on facebook and twitter". The next joint "Levi Jeans" is a hot track and has a hypnotizing beat. The hook "In My Levi Jeans" sticks in your head as well. The "Goosey" Remix is the next banger on the tape. Featuring T Eazy, Dro Man, and Nykky B the beat has been changed and the verses were tight. I would have like to see more people on the remix but everyone on it killed it. Nykky B provided a nice switch up and this should follow up well in the clubs. The tape continues with heat, and the song "Same Nigga" ft D Rock. The hook again fits the beat and the 2 artists keep the vibe of the song real with stories of what they have come through, coming up in the hood. Rainy Boy's production is a real testament to how much it helps records. He has top notch beats on most of the songs. The song "AFter the Club" ft D Golder slows down the tape and gives a new topic in which he talks about that late night search at 5 in the morning to get with a hook up. Its a story after the club that is very popular and relatable. D Golder is a good addition to this song with his vocals. "Bring em Out" produced by Burksdidit is a nice up tempo track with Rainy Boy showing that he can hold down a whole song and keep the energy up. The next record "F*ck Wit Me" is 1 of the better records on the mixtape and is reminiscent of Yo Gotti's "What Up" record. His ode to the city ft Boosie Dre comes off original and fresh however. The tape keeps the heat coming with "Right Now" ft Tone Goody again, (on the hook this time). This could easily be the best song on the mixtape and the hook is CRAZY. It grabs you from the time it comes on and Tone Goody displays why he is 1 of the top artists coming up in the market on the hook. The tape slows down with "Dont Tell" ft C.A This songs tells of taking pills and drinking and being on the low about it. Everybody has a friend who is a "sting on the low" and needs some help. Perfect song. "The F*ck is You On" is a well produced song and probably has the best track on the tape. Osama Bin Laden also moves the tape through well and keeps the energy and high quality production going.

Overall, I liked the mixtape and was able to listen to it more than once easily and I will most likely be putting it back in the deck. A couple of songs "The Swag" - was TOO MUCH swag and really came off like something Lil B would do. Also, I expected more on a couple of collabs with JE Heartbreak. But Rainy Boy has shown growth on this mixtape more than the first and that is what artists should be aiming for and that is to deliver a better quality to their fans each time they drop. So I respect that about his music. He is not the most lyrical in "hip hop" terms and there is a certain redundancy to his music but his wit and the ability to create songs is not lost on the listener. "Happy Trap Home" is a nice effort and I suggest you buy and listen.

I give this mixtape: 3 of out 5 bands

*WTF Files* George Lucas: Hollywood Wouldn't Fund All-Black Cast

Doesn't surprise me - this world is STILL Cray.

Legendary director George Lucas said he ran into some problems with his latest film, Red Tails, because Hollywood wouldn't fund the movie because of its all black cast.

"This has been held up for release since 1942 since it was shot, I've been trying to get released ever since,it's because it's an all-black movie. There's no major white roles in it at all...I showed it to all of them and they said no. We don't know how to market a movie like this"

The noteworthy film tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen who fought in World War II, played by Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Ne-Yo, Tristan Wilds, Method Man and more.

*YOLO $* American Feds Helped Colombian Drug Trafficker Move Millions And Millions Of Dollars Worth Of Coke

Now I wonder how much of that money D.E.A. Agents "confiscated" (No Richie) - I guess if you can't beat em join em.

(Bossip.com) American drug enforcement agents posing as money launderers secretly helped a powerful Mexican drug trafficker and his principal Colombian cocaine supplier move millions in drug proceeds around the world, as part of an effort to infiltrate and dismantle the criminal organizations wreaking havoc south of the border, according to newly obtained Mexican government documents. The documents, part of an extradition order by the Mexican Foreign Ministry against the Colombian supplier, describe American counternarcotics agents, Mexican law enforcement officials and a Colombian informant working undercover together over several months in 2007.

Together, they conducted numerous wire transfers of tens of thousands of dollars at a time, smuggled millions of dollars in bulk cash — and escorted at least one large shipment of cocaine from Ecuador to Dallas to Madrid. The extradition order — obtained by the Mexican magazine emeequis and shared with The New York Times — includes testimony by a Drug Enforcement Administration special agent who oversaw a covert money laundering investigation against a Colombian trafficker named Harold Mauricio Poveda-Ortega, also known as “The Rabbit.” He is accused of having sent some 150 tons of cocaine to Mexico between 2000 and 2010. Much of that cocaine, the authorities said, was destined for the United States.

Last month, The Times reported that these kinds of operations had begun in Mexico as part of the drug agency’s expanding role in that country’s fight against organized crime. The newly obtained documents provide rare details of the extent of that cooperation and the ways that it blurs the lines between fighting and facilitating crime. In June 2007, the traffickers bit, asking the informant to give them an account number for their deposits. And over a four-day period in July, they transferred tens of thousands of dollars at a time from money exchange houses in Mexico into an account the D.E.A. had established at a Bank of America branch in Dallas. According to the testimony, the traffickers’ deposits totaled $1 million. And on the traffickers’ instructions, the informant withdrew the money and the D.E.A. arranged for it to be delivered to someone in Panama.

Testimony by the informant suggests that the traffickers were pleased with the service. “At the beginning of August 2007, Harry asked my help receiving $3 million to $4 million in American money to be laundered,” the informant testified, referring to one of the Colombian traffickers involved in the investigation. “During subsequent recorded telephone calls I told Harry I couldn’t handle that much money.” Still, the informant and the D.E.A. tried to keep up. On one occasion, they enlisted a Mexican undercover law enforcement agent to pick up $499,250 from their trafficking targets in Mexico City. And a month later, that same agent picked up another load valued at more than $1 million.

WTF: IRS comes up $385 billion short - audits 1 in 8 millionaires

You know when Uncle Sam comes up short its gone be a problem. But he's only checking up on 1 in 8 millionaires and the tax gap comes from 84 PERCENT of BUSINESSES, OWNERS etc. UNDERREPORTING. I wonder who owns the businesses. Oh, the millionaires.......ok makes sense then.

IRS audited 1 in 8 millionaires

The IRS has noted that compliance among taxpayers is highest when there is third-party reporting of income. So, the basic W2 working Joe who has money withheld automatically from his paycheck typically has a very high compliance rate.
"A net of only 1 percent of wage and salary income was misreported. But amounts subject to little or no information reporting had a 56 percent net misreporting rate," the IRS said in a statement Friday.
Given the more than 140 million returns filed a year, the 22,184 employees working in IRS enforcement can't hope to close the tax gap on their own, especially given the frequently changing tax laws.
Last year, for instance, the agency audited more than 62,000 corporate returns and roughly 1.6 million individual returns, including one in 8 millionaires, the highest enforcement rate for that income group since 2004.
The tax gap, especially in a time of $1 trillion annual deficits, is one reason many on Capitol Hill are calling for tax reform.
"An improved tax code that's simple and fair to all Americans will help close the tax gap, boost our economy and create jobs," Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus said in a statement. "In an era when we're squeezing the federal budget for every dollar of savings, we have to make every effort to recover these lost funds."
While it's easy to be disconcerted over the size of the tax gap, two things are of note: The voluntary compliance rate among U.S. taxpayers has been fairly steady over the years, and Americans are among the best in the world at paying what they owe the tax man.

He is a member of the label MRC Ent along w/ Lil Scooty, Kano, Indiana Tone and the tape is hosted and mixed by Mr "Mixing Up the Medicine" DJ Champ. This is his first popular release and there was a lot of anticipation in my market as to how this mixtape would come out. Outside of the music, he is a solid dude and I know his style is also a reflection of his pain. You can sense his hunger for money and making a better situation in the music. There are a lot of songs on this tape that are in this mold. I was also glad to see this mixtape online but I would have like to had the song titles correct. These small details are so IMPORTANT to the branding of the songs and movement. With that being said the cover is on point and the music is slappin....Without further a do...

The tape starts out kind of slow and a lot of the music is in this mold. His tape is one of those types of music that you can ride to. I don't necessarily see a lot of these songs in the club but it gives you that old feel of riding and listening to somebody describe their city. The 2nd song "Ghetto" is the first example of this. I think the beat could have been a lot better but the hook and flow get the point across. "Geeeeeeeeeeet Yo Money My Niggggggggggga" stays in your head throughout the hold CD. From beginning to end, Yella's hooks are all A1. The song "Pour Up" - "I Won't Tell" and "Came along way??" are all examples of this. "I Wont Tell" also probably has the hardest beat on the mixtape. "Money On My Mind" is a banger. This song has Playbwoi the Great on the hook and MRC on the features. This is a top notch song and I can see why this is the lead single. Moving in to the tape, On Song 7 Yung Tone delivers a different sound, more melodic and it worked very well on the track. Golde Patron also comes correct and this is one of the top songs on the tape as well. "I Aint Trippin" ft Lil E (MGG) comes in with a sinister beat and the hook delivers the message very well that anybody can get it. Lil E definitely left you with the impression that to cross him or Yella is not in one's best interest. As I moved on in the project, "Ten Toes Down" also caught my attention. The beat is hard - bass driven and the verses stayed on topic and complimented the rest of the track. You can feel the desperation and realness in the message. Track 12 has a tight beat and the song being upbeat sped things up for the overall feel of the mixtape. "What You Do" Get Money, is an infectious chant and also memorable. Tracks 11 and 14 "Wait For Me" are nice changes of pace into the slow realm. The beat on 14 is also stand out. It really hit home on the life of a hustla and his misses. Songs "Bust A Bail" and "Front Doe" ft Lil Scooty and more are nice additions to the tape. Front Doe has a nice beat and feel. Moving to the end of 80s Baby brings "Hustle" again featuring Lil E. These two have good chemistry and again killed the beat. This is probably my favorite song on the project. The last song is a tribute to those who are locked behind the walls and hits the mark on the shout out. The singing vocals are nice on the song.

Overall, I like the mixtape. I think the production is a little weaker than I would have liked but it still has some great beats. The hooks with improved production could have made this a classic. Yella's hooks are ABOVE and beyond. I would have also liked to see who the producers were in the credits. DJ Champ kept the drops etc to a minimum, which is always good, however the mixing could have been more prevalent. It has hit potential and is nice to ride to, I think his best music is still ahead of him however.

I give this mixtape 3 out of 5 bands

*Is it too far fetched* Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Says U.S. Is The Reason Why He Has Cancer

http://consultlmc.com/venezuelan-president-hugo-chavez-says-u-s-is-the-reason-why-he-has-cancer/

I mean he does make interesting points and we all know that our govt IS capable of some crazy sh*t. I'm just picturing him and Fidel up blowing 1 talking about all the ways the U.S. trying to murk his a$$ and how he lasting. lol Classic.

(Bloomberg)–Chavez said the Central Intelligence Agency was behind chemical experiments in Guatemala in the 1940s and that it’s possible that in years to come a plot will be uncovered that shows the U.S. spread cancer as a political weapon against its critics.

“It’s very difficult to explain, even with the law of probabilities, what has been happening to some of us in Latin America,” Chavez said in a nationally televised speech to the military. “Would it be so strange that they’ve invented technology to spread cancer and we won’t know about it for 50 years?”

Chavez, who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in June and had a baseball-sized tumor removed in Cuba, has called for a regional summit of leaders who have battled cancer including Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, her predecessor Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva and Paraguay’s Fernando Lugo.

“I’m just sharing my thoughts, but it’s very, very, very strange,” Chavez said. “Evo take care of yourself, Correa, be careful, we just don’t know,” he said, referring to Evo Morales and Rafael Correa, the leaders of Bolivia and Ecuador.
Thomas Mittnacht, press director at the U.S. embassy in Caracas, declined to comment when reached by telephone.

Re-election Bid

Chavez, a former tank commander who has led South America’s largest oil producer since 1999 and will seek a third consecutive six-year term in October elections, says that the U.S. was involved in a coup against him in 2002 that briefly ousted the socialist leader before he was reinstated by the military and supporters.

The 57-year-old leader also accuses the U.S. of plotting an invasion of Venezuela to capture its oil reserves.
Chavez, who continues to send the U.S. more than 800,000 barrels of oil a day, said that former Cuban leader Fidel Castro has warned him about assassination attempts after surviving what he has claimed are hundreds of plots by the U.S. since he took power in 1959.

“Fidel always tells me, ‘Chavez be careful, they’ve developed technology, be careful with what you eat, they could stick you with a small needle,’” the Venezuelan leader said today. “In any case, I’m not accusing anyone, I’m just using my freedoms to reflect and issue comments on very strange events that are hard to explain.”
