This is what a police state looks like: Police clear Occupy camps in Los Angeles, Philly




Los Angeles (CNN) -- Police in Los Angeles and Philadelphia dismantled tents and arrested Occupy protesters who refused to leave city areas early Wednesday.
Los Angeles police moved in at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday (3:30 a.m. ET). About an hour later, the City Hall lawn was cleared and closed for cleanup. About 200 people were arrested in the operation, utilizing some 1,400 officers, said Police Chief Charlie Beck.
Police described the operation as fairly peaceful. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa early Wednesday praised officers' professionalism.
The Los Angeles encampment, which has been in place for some 60 days, had become the largest remaining one after police raided New York's Zuccotti Park on November 15 and dismantled the nearly two-month-old camp.

In Philadelphia, CNN affiliate WPVI reported about 40 protesters were arrested following a clash with police.
Authorities evicted members of the Occupy Philadelphia movement just after 1 a.m. ET from Dilworth Plaza, near City Hall. About six people were arrested there, according to WPVI. Other protesters continued marching around the city. Scuffles broke out about 4:40 a.m. after police told protesters to vacate the street, the station reported.
A group of protesters remained across from Dilworth Plaza late into the night, but mounted police cleared the scene, WPVI said.
Four people were injured, the station reported, citing Mayor Michael Nutter. Two police officers sustained minor injuries while making arrests, a third was hurt when taking down a tent and a protester was hurt when a police horse stepped on her foot, Nutter said.
Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey told WPVI that police will stay at Dilworth Plaza for as long as it takes. Several streets were closed until further notice, the station said.
On Monday, Nutter gave protesters camped at Dilworth Plaza a 48-hour notice to vacate the site, citing a pending construction project.
In Los Angeles, officers in riot gear and armed with batons closed off streets around City Hall, using bullhorns to warn scores of agitated Occupy LA protesters to disperse.
"This has been declared to be an unlawful assembly. You have seven minutes to gather your belongings and decide to leave," one officer said.
During the raid, more than a dozen protesters sat in a tight circle in the middle of the park with their arms linked. Some cried. Some wore masks.
A white police truck drove through the center of the park, announcing orders to disperse in English and Spanish.
Some campers left willingly. One carried a skateboard under one arm and what looked like a rolled-up sleeping bag in the other.
Officers were met with profanity but no violence.
"This is what a police state looks like!" some of the protesters chanted.
Villaraigosa said the police action was "a measured approach to enforcing the park closure."

In other NEWS: Rocsi Opens Up About Webbie Incident; Says Rapper’s Sexual Harassment Led To BET Ban

This is a sad situation both ways. I think Webbie should apologize personally and I think Rocsi knows what enviornment and the type of people she's working with. She didn't need to take it to NBC on some Herman Cain type ish.



(AllHipHop News) Rocsi Diaz, co-host of BET’s 106 & Park, discussed a recent incident with Baton Rogue, Louisiana rapper Webbie, who has been banned from the network.
Webbie was permanently banned from the TV network after he appeared on 106 & Park’s “Freestyle Friday” segment in October, to promote his new album Savage Life 3.
While Webbie claimed that the ban was due to Terrence J.’s uncontrollable passion for Rocsi, she flatly dismissed the notion of a romantic link to her co-host and placed the blame squarely upon the rapper and his behavior.
“It’s really sad, the way it was looked upon. I have thick skin, but when you are at your job and somebody sexually harasses you, in a manner that is very vulgar and disgusting, I have no shame of sticking up for myself and telling you that you’re improper right now,” Rocsi told NBC’s Peter Bailey. “I’m at work we’re on a set, there’s children around us. You’re really out of line right now.”
Rocsi admitted she was surprised by some of the support Webbie received after the incident.
But she was in full support of co-host Terrence J., who proclaimed that the Baton Rogue native was banned from the network.
“People should more so applaud a woman sticking up for herself and the people around her for sticking up for herself, than allowing that kind of behavior to happen. I think we allow that behavior to happen too much in our society. It’s ok to speak up ladies and say no i don’t ;ik to be spoken to in that manner.”
Rocsi said that she was a fan of Webbie, since she’s from New Orleans and he’s from Baton Rogue.
But the rapper’s disrespectful conduct on the show was too much and to top it all off, he’s never called and personally apologized. To make matters worse, Webbie has threatened Terrence J. several times since the incident.
“It was really inappropriate, it’s really sad and I just hope that he understands it. There’s never even been an apology, it’s been more of an upsetting incident [to him] because he can’t be on BET.”
Rocsi did say that Webbie’s management called and apologized for the rapper’s behavior.

The rapper, real name Torrance Hatch, was sentenced to eight years in prison.
Boosie pled guilty to three counts of conspiring to bring drugs into a penal institution.
Lil Boosie remains charged with first-degree murder for the death of Terry Boyd.

MIXTAPE REVIEW: Tone Goody - Out The Mud - (Broz Up Ent.) Indianapolis, IN



I want to say first that I really was antcipating listening to this mixtape. This is the 1st effort from the Broz Up Ent artist and his growth DURING the process is what amazed me most. With most of the production done by the SUPER PRODUCERS KEAZY and KAZ LIL DADDY, I knew this would come out pretty nice and I was not disappointed. This mixtape is a Trapper's Dream with themes and tales of pill popping, thugging, and more. I would DEFINITELY play this tape back to back and if you need something to ride to, this mixtape would make a good road trip soundtrack because it can go from 1-15. So without further ado, Tone Goody #OTM

Mixtape overall: It didn't start out the best, I would've placed some of the tracks placed in the middle at the beginning. Someone may put it in, give it 5 mins and miss 14 more tracks of HEAT. It gets going with Caution this track is laid back and the chrous really hypnotizes you and places you in the pill laced zone he's creating as a backdrop for the music. Next is the ballad and maybe song of 2012 produced by Kaz Lil Daddy "Pill Man Shawty". I don't even pop pills but after listening to this song I considered a zanie or 2! lol The song also features a stand out verse from Lil Vinnie as well. The tape continues with "Wow" which is also produced by Kaz Lil Daddy and features a sample from "El Dorado Red" - the beat is chopped around the sample nicely and up and comer Boosie Dre appears on this song. The next stand out track is "Everyday" with features from Yung Tone, T-Eazy, and Swoe. It was produced by Keazy Beats and has that definite bang to it. The bass line hits HARD and the mixture of the artist is a nice fit. This song is also a classic in my book. The next song to look out for is "Yes I am" ft Mike E a definite dopeboy classic. The tape continues with the hood anthem "Dirty Money" ft Dro Man. "Break You Off Something" ft T-Eazy and Boosie Dre takes you to the No Limit days and the way they flipped the song was CRAZY! The last song that I really took to on this tape would be 40 Water ft. Joka Slaughta Boi. This song has a nice beat and the hook is CATCHY! Definite banger.

Low Lights: Take me away ft Leamber was a bit disappointing the vocals did not match. "That's all I'm gon say" felt like a filler. The tape quality is also a little low and I felt like the hosting could have been more on point.

Mixtape Rating: 3.5 out of 5 bands

As the Italian government struggled to borrow and Spain considered seeking an international bail-out, British ministers privately warned that the break-up of the euro, once almost unthinkable, is now increasingly plausible.

Diplomats are preparing to help Britons abroad through a banking collapse and even riots arising from the debt crisis.

The UK Treasury confirmed earlier this month that contingency planning for a collapse is now under way.

A senior minister has now revealed the extent of the Government’s concern, saying that Britain is now planning on the basis that a euro collapse is now just a matter of time.

“It’s in our interests that they keep playing for time because that gives us more time to prepare,” the minister told UK media.

The Financial Services Authority this week issued a public warning to British banks to bolster their contingency plans for the break-up of the single currency.

Some economists believe that at worst, the outright collapse of the euro could reduce GDP in its member-states by up to half and trigger mass unemployment.

Analysts at UBS, an investment bank earlier this year warned that the most extreme consequences of a break-up include risks to basic property rights and the threat of civil disorder.

“When the unemployment consequences are factored in, it is virtually impossible to consider a break-up scenario without some serious social consequences,” UBS said.

It started with the Patriot Act, then the Airports, however the new law that's being put in the works would make even North Korea's Kim Jong Il jealous.


The US. Senate is set to vote on a bill today that would define the whole of the United States as a “battlefield” and allow the U.S. Military to arrest American citizens in their own back yard without charge or trial.



“The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself,” writes Chris Anders of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office.


Under the ‘worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial’ provision of S.1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill, which is set to be up for a vote on the Senate floor this week, the legislation will “basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who supports the bill.

The bill was drafted in secret by US. Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), before being passed in a closed-door committee meeting without any kind of hearing. The language appears in sections 1031 and 1032 of the NDAA bill.



“I would also point out that these provisions raise serious questions as to who we are as a society and what our Constitution seeks to protect,” Colorado Senator Mark Udall said in a speech last week. One section of these provisions, section 1031, would be interpreted as allowing the military to capture and indefinitely detain American citizens on U.S. soil. Section 1031 essentially repeals the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 by authorizing the U.S. military to perform law enforcement functions on American soil. That alone should alarm my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, but there are other problems with these provisions that must be resolved.”



This means Americans could be declared domestic terrorists and thrown in a military brig with no recourse whatsoever. Given that the Department of Homeland Security has characterized behavior such as buying gold, owning guns, using a watch or binoculars, donating to charity, using the telephone or email to find information, using cash, and all manner of mundane behaviors as potential indicators of domestic terrorism, such a provision would be wide open to abuse.

Cairo (CNN) -- Fresh violence broke out near Cairo's Tahrir Square Tuesday, a day after Egypt's Cabinet attempted to resign, submitting a resignation to the nation's military-led government.
For several hours, protesters hurled stones at police and chanted, calling for the downfall of the Supreme Council of Armed Forces, which started running the country after protesters ousted former President Hosni Mubarak in February. Demonstrators apparently tried to defend Tahrir Square as they faced off with police on a connecting street.
Egyptian police responded with tear gas and rubber bullets, forcing protesters to retreat briefly before they returned with renewed intensity. Violence also spread to other parts of Egypt.
Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, head of Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, will address the nation Tuesday, according to Egyptian state broadcaster Al Masriya. The latest report contradicted an earlier one saying he would speak "shortly."
After Mubarak's fall, military leaders took control with the promise that eventually a civilian government would be elected and take over.
Military leaders still say they will hand over power to a new government when one is elected. Though parliamentary elections are set to take place November 28, a complex electoral process follows, and presidential elections could be a year away.

Montgomery, Alabama (CNN) -- Barring one photo on his desk, Alan Moore's dorm room looks like most others.
Sparsely furnished and 12-by-15 feet, it has cinder block walls and a sole window overlooking the Faulkner University campus. Three pairs of jeans hang from the back of the door near a cooler of soft drinks. A half roll of athletic tape straps a 13-inch TV to the foot of the bed.
On a recent afternoon after class, the place smells like air freshener, perhaps in anticipation of yet another reporter's arrival. A practice football uniform sits crumpled on a chair in the corner. There are no dartboards on the wall, no supermodel posters, no rock 'n' roll icons -- only a Faulkner football schedule.
On Moore's desk, cluttered with pens, paper, a calculator, Bible, thesaurus and a bottle of Advil, the framed photo stands out: It shows a padded-up Moore alongside his five grandkids.
At 61, Moore may seem like an odd fixture on campus, but in many ways, he fits right in. He came here to go to school, to play football.
He's also teaching his teammates that dreams shouldn't die.
The junior kicker wears a rigid, black, square-toed shoe. Across the top are block letters spelling "BELIEVE."

Mixtape Review: Yung Tone - Rubberband Lingo 3 - Mixed by DJ Reddy Rock


Here is my mixtape review segement - just wanted to start it off one of the top artists in my market Indianapolis, IN Yung Tone. Yung Tone is an artist from the popular indie label Munki Boi Ent (of "On My Momma" fame) and has released his 4th mixtape in time for the holidays. "I'm Here Now" and Rubberband Lingo Vol. 1 & 2 have built his following and many expect him to break out in the mainstream before the end of 1st quarter 2012. Without further ado.....

Overall Mixtape: I personally think the mixtape is VERY well rounded and easy to listen too. After the first listen, you definitely want to go back to the tape and listen to the songs over again. Most of production has been handled by Swiff tha Gift, D Golder and many others. The first thing I realized was the number of features on the tape. Tone has reached out to many of the artists in the market and it shows on the diversity in the songs. The first highlight of the tape is the collaboration "My Trap Boom" - featuring Vinnie, Goldie P and Swoe. The beat is on point and the hook written by Goldie P catches you right away. Swoe's feature is memorable and this is definitely a track to put on rewind. The mixtape does not let you rest as the next couple of songs take you into the collaboration with label mate G Fresh and Yo Gotti. 448, 1008 grams is a GREAT song (again produced by Swiff The Gift) and creates the Memphis/Indianapolis Midwest connection. The very next song "On A Pole" - ft Rell is a definitely a strip club anthem and ladies are going to love this track! The next track that catches your attention is 365 Dope Grind ft Dro Man and G Fresh - Dro Man spits a memorable bar on his feature "I-65 down 465 trying to get my $ up and buy a 745". The remix to the song "Maxie" has also been included with updated features from Yella, Dro Man, G Fresh, Tone Goody. The tape keeps you captivated with songs like "Still Taxin", Real Nigga, Ima Get Paid ft Mike E, and ends with the switch up in feel with "Feel Good" ft Golder. Low moments include "She bad" which could have been left off the tape. Overall, I am very pleased with the mixtape and how it was put together. DJ Reddy Rock does a good job of mixing drops and other beats at the right time and there is not too much yelling, etc. Definitely a banger for the end of 2011.

Aides: 'Super Committee' likely to announce failure to reach debt deal

Washington (CNN) -- Members of the "super committee" charged with coming up with $1.2 trillion in budget cuts are focused on how to announce failure to reach a deal, Democratic and Republican aides confirmed to CNN Sunday.
While aides said no final decision had been made, they acknowledged that -- barring an unforeseen development -- an announcement of an end to negotiations is the most likely scenario.
Talks on trying to reach a deficit reduction agreement are essentially over and discussions are focused on a Monday announcement, a senior Democratic aide said.
Another senior Democratic source said, "No decisions or agreement has been reached concerning any announcement or how this will end. But, yes, the likely outcome is no agreement will be reached." A Republican aide said, "I don't think they've decided when they will do it."
