Top 10 artists to Watch in Indiana: #8 Lil E Hoe

We put together this list to highlight who is making the moves and who is NEXT from our state. Each one of these artists may not necessarily be the "nicest" lyricist or who you think raps best. All 10 of these people are putting themselves in position to be industry factors for the year of 2015. Watch and pay attention.

10. Playbwoi Tha Great

9. Poindexter

8. Lil E Hoe

As far as the streets of Indiana and Indianapolis go, this next artist Lil E Hoe is the definition. I would describe his flow, content, and likeability to that of Lil Boosie. Lil E has a realness in his rhymes and a conviction in his voice that lets you know the hood tales are not all just rapping. After being released following an acquittal on charges, Lil E has put out a very SOLID project, "Back 2 Life" - reaching out to the likes of Starlito on his "Coming From Where I'm From" record. He also delivered a memorable verse on D-Bo's rising record "Solid". Look out for Lil E Hoe as he rises through the ranks of the Atlanta scene and more. He IS the streets, don't believe me, go check his soundcloud page: https://soundcloud.com/lile-mgg

Top 10 artists to Watch in Indiana: #9 Poindexter

9. Poindexter

8. ???

7. ???

If this list was based on music only, this artist would be much higher on the list (most of his music is producer by "Geechie"). I was recently introduced to his music through HIM, he brought his mixtape to me. And then I heard his name somewhere again, on a collab with another artist I know and decided to check him out more. I am certainly pleased with the youth that has been served. 18 years old, with great subjects, delivery, word play, and lyricism - he has it all. Pay attention in 2015 you will hear MUCH MORE from this youngster as I expect him to BURST on the scene. Follow him on twitter: @Poindexter__

Entering at #10 on the "Indiana's Top 10 artists to Watch" is a new comer to the list, we've just been waiting on him to drop a project. Although known throughout his city as a producer, Playbwoi the Great released a superb project this year "From Sh*t to Sugar" Vol. 2, that was received very well in both the Midwest and Southeast regions. His trademark catchy voice and melodic hooks makes his music a must listen and along with parter BamClick they have been putting in the necessary movement to allow the music to be heard. Check on him in 2015 as he continues his rise to notoriety. Find him on twitter @playbwoi_88

Year in Review of 2014 Lists - Top 10 Mixtapes of The Year

2014 was an interesting year in mixtapes, with more mixtapes dropping but the allure and the genre has really become saturated and tough to distinguish what to listen to. But these mixtapes stood out IN 2014. My Top 10 Mixtapes of the Year.

10.Gucci Mane - The Brick Factory Vol. 1

9. Fat Trel - Gleesh

8. Lil Herb - Welcome to FazoLand

7. Shy Glizzy - Raw 3

6. Troy Ave - B.S.B. Vol 4

5. Future - Monster

4. Billard - Billard

3. Kevin Gates - Luca Brasi 2

2. Lil Bibby - Free Crack 2

These new artists stood out with this mixtape that probably spawned more singles than any ALBUM in the game. This mixtape produced 2 of the years' biggest hits "Handsome & Wealthy" and "Fight Night". Kudos to the Migos and ATL. Doing it with NO LABEL!!

1. Migos - No Label 2

Year in Review of 2014 Lists - Top 10 Songs on the Year

There were many songs that marked the year 2014 and I am proud to present my top 10. Singles have now become the "album seller" and with the advent of itunes, someone can have a very successful career off 1 SONG!

10. 0 to 100 - Drake

9. Ain't About the Money - T.I. ft Young Thug

8. Seen It All - Young Jeezy ft Jay-Z

7. Try Me - Dej Loaf

6. Handsome & Wealthy - Migos

5. IDFWY - Big Sean

4. No Type - Rae Sremmurd

3. Tuesday - ILOVEMAKONNEN ft. Drake

2. Lifestyle - Rich Gang

With the addictive beat on this song and its infamous result (an indictment) Bobby Shmurda created the biggest club record of the year. This song got him signed to Epic with L.A. Reid and also spawned the "Shmurda Dance". There was not a bigger record in 2014.

1. Bobby Shmurda - Hot N*gga

Year in Review of 2014 Lists - Top 10 Albums of The Year

2014 The Year of the "Weirdo Rapper". Rappers such as Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, French Montana and more have become the staple. Birdman and his "Rich Gang" have dominated the talk for music of the year! Twitter beef and singles were about the only other thing that brought attention to Hip Hop this year besides J. Cole's album. He sold over 400k copies to become the highest hip hop selling artist this year. Big Krit and Nikki Minaj also make a splash with their respective music but from sales to the charts......It was a hard year for Hip Hop.

10. DJ Mustard - 10 Summers

9. Vince Staples, Hell Can Wait

8. Stalley - Ohio

7. YG - My Krazy Life

6. Freddie Gibbs x Madlib - Cocaine Pinata

5. Nikki Minaj - The Pink Print

4. Wiz Khalifa - 28 Grams

3. Lecrae - Anamoly

2. J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive

This album coming in the 4th quarter surpassed and changed expectations for real music in these times. Listening to this album felt like putting in an old Outkast Classic and it went from front to back. His song "Soul Food" ft Raphael Sadiqq set the bar for the whole album and indeed, "Cadillatica" is the movie.

1. Big Krit - Cadillactica
